Who was Dracula? A European count, a crusader for Christendom and oh yes, a vampire. Of course, it all depends on which version of the infamous creature of the night you choose to read. The original novel by Bram Stoker gave birth to a villain people just love to hate, but can't get enough of. John Polidori should get credit here too. He was Lord Byron's personal physician and responsible for writing "The Vampyre" in 1816; well before Stoker released his epic vampire tale.
My debut novel, Dracula Unmasked, takes a different look at a fictional character often depicted as grotesque and frightening. Some writers portray Count Dracula as a handsome and sometimes sexy villain. It’s hard not to be intrigued by a caped intruder who comes into your bedroom when you are at your most vulnerable. In my story, you will meet the man behind the mask and discover who Dracula really was. Through the magic of time travel, my story spans five hundred years and introduces the reader to many historical figures including, Jack the Ripper, Countess Bathory, Adolf Hitler, Vincent van Gogh, Charles Manson and even Bram Stoker himself.
It’s almost Halloween everyone! Why not dig into this compelling tale as the autumn winds grow colder and the nights seemingly eternal. Grab a glass of wine or cup of coffee and get ready for a story filled with history and a colorful array of interesting characters. Available on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
