ABOUT THE BOOK
What if someone wrote a tale about Dracula that was different from the rest? Wouldn't it be refreshing to read a vampire story that cuts through Hollywood's glitzy version of the infamous vampire and invites the reader into the misadventures of a former prince and his inner conflict about having to prey on humans in order to survive?
In this gripping tale we explore the man living behind the vampire as Dracula navigates his way through time, settling in London where he spawns a colony of vampires who live beneath Trafalgar Square. Assisting the seasoned vampire is the infamous Jack the Ripper, who has been made a creature of the night but still has a penchant for killing prostitutes.
Their eventful journey includes adventures in the historic city of London and on the mysterious landscape of the North York Moors. Caught in the blitzkrieg during World War II, Dracula and Jack make a narrow escape setting their sights on America.
Dracula decides almost immediately that their new home will be in the heart of New York City, where his progeny will infiltrate the very fabric of humanity without ever being recognized for what they are.
Accompanying the two vampires are several earthbound spirits including a bird and a group of misfit children; together they encounter an array of historical figures that help to create an action packed and compelling story that makes the reader want to keep turning the page.

"This book was such an adventurous tale with so many historical characters and places. I loved the battle Dracula had throughout showing a more human side. A definite page turner not knowing who he will meet and where his next adventure lies. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves the character of Dracula with a ride through time. I felt so taken away on a different take on a classic character. I could visualize the whole story like watching a movie on the edge of my seat. I am looking forward to many more books to come."

"From the first chapter, and the picture the author creates, this story had me! The characters are so relatable...the connections they share and how historical figures make it all link up. Jack the Ripper, Bram Stoker, Van Gogh, Jericho (the beautiful gay man), Adolph Hitler, the Countess. I love how the author incorporates these characters into this awesome vampire story. I really hope it is made into film!"

"This book delivered a lot more than expected. It has enough twists & turns to keep it moving, yet a steadiness that keeps it grounded. Many characters are relatable and more complex than stereotypical. By mixing familiar content with the unfamiliar, she weaves an interesting tale."

"Not your typical Dracula story. Much more fun. Lots of history and places to relate to. A new perspective on the human side of Dracula the man and how he lives with this curse. A journey through time says it all. Great read!"

PAMELA J. RAUCH
I started writing poems and short stories in fifth grade and one of my favorite topics was anything supernatural or macabre.
Halloween is my favorite holiday and Dracula is by far, my favorite creature of the night. In my younger years I wrote a lot of poetry and sometimes short stories however; through the years I burned to write a compelling vampire tale that was different.
Up until my retirement in 2016, my writing was only a hobby but over the past few years I have taken up writing full time and am pleased to have finally written the story I always promised myself I would.

Here's a FREE sneak peak of Pamela's latest novel, Dracula Unmasked.
A flood of painful memories assaulted the ancient vampire as he took a deep breath and beheld the ruined dream of America. His city was in flames, but worse yet; a faithful friend had betrayed him. The sun was no threat to him, veiled as it was by a thick cloud of smoke that wove a fabric of despair into the very atmosphere. He beheld his wounded city as the piercing shrill of fire engines and first responders drowned out the anguished cries of people suffering the kind of loss, from which there was no recovery. Riddled with guilt as he surveyed the epitome of human cruelty, Vlad Dracula abandoned his regret and finally embraced his love of humanity. This, after spending more than five hundred years taking human lives on a regular basis, to satisfy his burning hunger.
In all fairness, some deserved to die, and others were victims simply because they crossed his path at the wrong time. He'd used up a lot of animals too, snapping up their lives without a thought, when his hunger became unbearable. He'd lost count of how many humans he had killed, too many to count; some still haunted his dreams. Most vampires were incapable of compassion and for Dracula this was true, but that didn’t mean he lived without guilt. Could he have done anything to stop this? There were no answers today. His city was burning and Dracula blamed himself for misplacing his trust; he had failed his city and himself. In his pivotal moment, the ancient vampire wondered why he had been chosen to live as a creature of the night, no longer believing it was a blessing to live forever.
The majestic white wolf stood on a snow-covered peak of the Carpathian Mountains, with keen eyes that could spot its prey from a distance of more than five miles. Slowly the great beast descended down the mountain, moving purposefully as if responding to a mating call. Above him a full moon shone with an eerie glow, which only enhanced a sense of impending doom. The surrounding forest was a refuge for his kind but tonight, he was summoned by a higher power. As its presence grew closer, the vegetation visibly wilted. The wolf raised a wet nose to the air and caught the scent of something so foul; it forced a host of wildlife into hiding. A steady wind combed through the lush forest as he scanned the treetops and waited for a sign from the Dark One.
"He has been born," a solemn voice whispered, as the night became suddenly still.
"Tell me…," the white wolf responded with building excitement, at the thought of grooming another like himself.
"A most evil one named, Vlad Dracula…in Wallachia. He is born a prince, but we will make him a Prince of Darkness."
"Is he the one, master?"
"Yes…he is the one we have been waiting for," the Dark One replied impatiently.
"And how will I serve him?" the wolf asked unsure what was expected.
"Fool…you serve me and no other!"
"Forgive me, master…how may I serve you?"
"We need the assistance of something more innocuous, something that will be unnoticed by those who serve and protect him."
The white wolf ran his tongue over yellow teeth with relish as a plan began to formulate, "I will seek out the ancient oak, master...surely the answers will be there."
"It is not the tree that will serve you…seek out the vine and make it your own," the Dark One replied, but the wolf was still confused.
"Master…I don’t understand."
"You must feed it! Your blood will fuel its waning fire and only then, will we have the means to groom this child into the dark lord he is mean to be."
"But master…where will I find him?" the wolf asked, but the Dark One had already vanished leaving a gentle wind behind.
The forest floor started moving beneath him, and the white wolf realized the Dark One was taking him to the Western Woods, where the sacred oak lived and breathed. It had been planted by the Druid's shortly after the birth of Christ. As the wolf cautiously approached the ancient tree, he felt a darkness spreading over him that had nothing to do with nightfall. The tree was taller than any the wolf had ever seen and its branches reached out hungrily with the bony fingers of a crone. The tree's massive trunk was covered with corroded gray bark and exuded a noxious odor clearly not of the living world. A tangled mass of spoiled greenery wound itself tightly around the ancient oak and seemed almost part of the tree itself. The white wolf stood only a foot from the tree now, certain he was as close to hell as he could get. The tainted vine was withered and appeared almost frail but the great beast knew better, and so had the Druids.
Determined in his mission, the white wolf stepped closer, nuzzling the brittle bark and the sleeping vine came instantly awake, feeling a hunger that could not be satisfied by water and sunshine. The wolf let his body go limp and the vine began to wrap itself around the animal's neck; leafy tentacles caressed the only thing that could nourish its burning hunger. When the vine appeared ready to consume the subdued beast, a human hand emerged from the tangled mass and then another, as the wolf took on his human form. The vine hummed as sharp tentacles began to pierce the man's breast, desperate for a taste of glorious human blood. As the vine drank, it writhed about erotically and the human responded in kind, making their dance look like a mating ritual. The wind suddenly picked up and the human pulled away, grasping his naked chest as he resumed his canine form. The rejuvenated vine loosened its grip and patiently listened, as the white wolf explained the Dark One's plan. The sinister vine had already begun to detach itself from the ancient oak, unable to resist the intoxicating call of the human world.
